IDS: Exploring electronic production through Masterclass
Today as part of my IDS project, I looked into electronic techniques of production to create my trap song, through Masterclass videos from Timbaland.
The trap style came about during a revolution in the use of synthesized production for making beats, and so relies almost exclusively on completely electronic composition. Keeping this in mind, in order to properly explore the trap genre, I’ve decided to learn some basic techniques of electronic production.
I decided to do this through an online course on Masterclass heralded by a popular hip-hop producer called Timbaland. So far I’ve watched the first 3 lessons of the curriculum, and although they haven’t fully enlightened the rough-and-dirty aspects of electronic production, they have provided me with a good base to explore the topic.
