You might not know, but I am a huge fan of Pokemon games. Recently, I saved up a bit of money with my bro, and bought myself a copy of Pokemon Omega Ruby.

Summary: For anyone who knows the Pokemon series, I can just say were going way back to a better Hoenn. For those of you who don’t know much about Pokemon, it’s a game where you can catch, collect, train, battle, and befriend powerful creatures called Pokemon. Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire(oRaS for short)came out in 2014 and are the newest games in the Pokemon series. Pokemon oRaS is a remake of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, which released in 2002. I got Pokemon Omega Ruby, where you can catch Groudon and take down Team Magma.(as opposed to Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, where you catch Kyogre  and take down Team Aqua.)

The Plot: An adventure begins when you move to Littleroot Town, home of Professor Birch. Birch, being one of the best Pokemon Professors in Hoenn and a friend of your dad, Norman,  lets you choose between three starter Pokemon, Treeko, Torchic, and Mudkip. You must now embark on a journey to beat all 8 Gym Leaders, beat the Elite 4, become the champion, and “Catch ’em all!” Unfortunately, Groudon has awakened, and Team Magma plans to use his power to take over Hoenn! Now, it’s up to you to stop them, and catch Groudon!

Remarks: Pokemon oRaS brought back Secret Bases, a feature from the 3rd Generation, and added a feature where you can visit your friend’s secret bases through the use of QR codes on the BuzzNav. Speaking of the BuzzNav, it also brought the PokeNav Plus to the table, a great way to find your way around Hoenn, learn more about your Pokemon, use items, interact with your Pokemon, check out the news, and even train up your Pokemon’s base stats wit Super and Core Training mini games.

All in all, I think this is the best game in the Pokemon series, and also my new favorite. I give it twelve stars!(************)
